It’s safe to say that Victor Wembanyama has established himself as the NBA’s future. The 22-year-old has already proven he is one of the league’s best defensive talents, and he has made plays that a 7-foot-4 player had never previously made.
This year marks the Frenchman’s first playoff experience, and the lights have not been too bright for him. Tonight, his San Antonio Spurs will host their first Conference Finals game in nine years against the Oklahoma City Thunder. While the Thunder are known for their stingy defense, Wembanyama has averaged 31 points, 20.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 3.5 blocks through two games.
San Antonio's playoff hopes largely rely on how far Wembanyama can take them. So far, it's worked quite well, as the team has only four losses this postseason. Now, the Spurs and Thunder will face off in a pivotal Game 3 at the Frost Bank Center.
The Sporting News is tracking Wembanyama's numbers vs. Oklahoma City in Game 3. Follow below to keep tabs on how Wemby performs in San Antonio's first home Conference Finals game since 2017.
