Houston Texans schedule 2025: Dates & times for all 17 games, strength of schedule and predictions

5 hours ago 1

Many Texans fans believe it's time for liftoff in Houston.

After falling short of the AFC title game the last couple of seasons, the team has all the pieces to make a deeper playoff run in 2025. CJ Stroud, one of the best young quarterbacks in the league, and a vaunted defense led by head coach DeMeco Ryans is a great place to start.

Houston also has one of the easier schedules in the league. They play four games against the teams that picked 1-2 in the draft and could be favored in eight of their nine home games.

Here is a complete breakdown of the Texans' 2025 schedule, including dates, start times, and analysis for all 17 games.

Texans strength of schedule

Since a 10-7 season in 2024 concluded, the Texans have known their opponents for the 2025 season. Houston's strength of schedule for this year is purely based on the results of the 2024 season, meaning that while it is a strong indication of how hard a team's schedule will be, it won't be perfect. Some teams will improve or regress from last year.

The Texans are tied for the 18th-most difficult schedule this year, based on opponent winning percentage from 2024. They play six teams that made the playoffs last season.

Toughest tests: Winning at Arrowhead Stadium against the Chiefs, who beat the Texans in the AFC divisional round last year, will be a tough ask. Two long trips to Los Angeles to face the Chargers and Rams won't be easy, either, while the Bills and 49ers will also be tricky despite being at home.

Biggest breaks: The Texans do play in the AFC South, which could be the worst division in football this year. Two games each against the Titans and Jaguars could be four easy wins, not to mention favorable home matchups with the Raiders and Cardinals.

Texans record prediction

  • Over/under win total: 9.5 (per BetMGM)

Bottom line: The Texans were decimated by injuries at wide receiver last year, but if CJ Stroud's pass catchers stay healthy in 2025, they will easily win their division. The quarterback has proven he can win games in crunch time, and Houston's defense is bordering on elite heading into its third year under Ryans.

Houston is better than all but three teams on its schedule, but it will drop a couple more games on the road to the Chargers and Rams due to the craziness of the NFL. The Texans' home schedule is a breeze, however, and they will take full advantage.

Record prediction: 11-6
