Hornets' Kon Knueppel ties Steph Curry's rookie feat in special start to Duke phenom's NBA career

Kon Knueppel keeps proving himself as one of the best shooters on the planet.

Doesn't matter that he's just a rookie for the Charlotte Hornets. Knueppel's shooting stroke is special.

He has now hit as many 3-pointers this season (166) in 50 games as Steph Curry hit in his rookie season with the Warriors in 80 games.

Knueppel was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft out of Duke.

He's shooting more than 42% from 3-point range, and he hit four of them on Monday afternoon against the New Orleans Pelicans.

Knueppel is also averaging more than 18 points, 5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. He's shooting nearly 90% at the foul line.

The Hornets expected Knueppel to be good, clearly. They wouldn't have drafted him that high otherwise.

But it's immensely impressive how well he has adjusted to the NBA. He's battling his college teammate Cooper Flagg for the league lead in points per game by a rookie.

You can certainly bet Knueppel will keep hitting outside shots. That's what he does.
