Hoda Kotb Announces Split From Fiance Joel Schiffman

Hoda Kotb and Joel Schiffman are still on the same page when it comes to their kids.

The former Today co-host, who is mom to Haley, 8, and Hope, 6, shared a special Father's Day message honoring her ex-fiancé Joel Schiffman, with whom she adopted her daughters in 2017 and 2019, respectively.

"A great father’s day for a great dad !" the TV personality captioned a June 15 Instagram post featuring a photo of Joel with their girls. "Happy father’s day Joel!"

The pair split in 2022 following their eight-year relationship, which included a two-year engagement.

However, as proven in her latest post, there's still nothing but respect between the friendly exes.

"Joel is one of the best people I know, and he really is a great human being," Hoda explained to E! News in August 2024. "And I feel like I'm a pretty great human being, but sometimes two great human beings together isn't quite enough to make it work."

And when Hoda announced the news back in 2022, she emphasized that there was no one reason that led to their relationship's end.

"It's not like something happened," she said on Today at the time. "They say sometimes relationships are meant to be there for a reason, for a season or for a lifetime, and I feel like ours was meant to be there for a season."

Indeed, their season together led to Hoda's motherhood journey, changing the course of her life forever.

"I don't regret one day, not one minute, not one second of our time together because it brought me here. I have two incredible children I share with him," Hoda told People in an interview published in July 2024. "And it's because of Joel that I have Haley and Hope, without question. I think I might have been too afraid to do it alone."
