Plenty of people have wondered whether the Ruck twins will end up with the same team in the 2026 NHL Draft.
Liam Ruck is off the board, with the Pittsburgh Penguins taking him No. 22 overall in Friday night's first round. Could Markus join him?
Markus didn't go in the first round, so it's a matter of how long he lasts into the second round. Most likely, it won't be too long.
And if he's going to play with the same team as his brother, Markus will need the Penguins to find a way to get him.
Can they? This would be how.

How the Penguins can draft Markus Ruck to pair with Liam Ruck
The Penguins currently hold the seventh pick of the second round, which is No. 39 overall.
They have two paths.
Either they sit in that spot and hope Markus falls to them.
Or they trade up, not needing to add a ton to the 39th pick (likely one later-round pick) to move up a handful of spots and ensure they get Markus.

It's not a given they want to do that for sure, but it'd make a lot of sense, and it's worth considering.
Markus went for 21 goals and 87 assists this season in the Western Hockey League for the Medicine Hat Tigers. Liam had 45 goals and 59 assists.
The brothers know how to play together. The Penguins might have a way to keep them together.
