Chris Jericho's future has been the talk of the pro-wrestling town as of late, as uncertainty regarding his AEW status continues to loom. Now, former wrestling booker Eric Bischoff has shared his view that the 55-year-old legend could be on the verge of jumping ship to WWE.

For several months now, speculations have been circulating throughout the wrestling world regarding Chris Jericho's future in All Elite Wrestling, as his on-screen hiatus from the promotion continues and the clock ticks down on the expiration of his contract. Fans and industry analysts alike are seemingly of the belief that Y2J could be heading back to WWE next year, perhaps even return as a participant in the 2026 Men's Royal Rumble.

While Jericho is still missing from AEW programming, with just over a week left for the company's last pay-per-view of the year, Worlds End 2025, former wrestling booker Eric Bischoff cast his bet on the inaugural All Elite Wrestling World Champion's future destination. On a recent edition of his 83 Weeks podcast, Bischoff claimed that Jericho will likely be going back to WWE. He even pointed to the veteran's many recent social media throwbacks to his time in WWE to back his claim.

"He's a very smart guy and he plans ahead. He thinks ahead... If I had to bet money, I would bet he's going to end up in WWE. If I had to bet, and somebody would really have a reason to force me because I wouldn't want to take that bet, but if I had to, that's where I'm putting my bet.... I don't know what the plan is, but Chris has got a plan," Bischoff said. "Now I'm seeing real subtle little nods to WWE. Just enough to get social media to pay attention, not overt." Reports indicate that the Stamford-based promotion could be offering Jericho a retirement program for his return.

When was Chris Jericho last seen in AEW?

Earlier this year at Dynasty 2025. Chris Jericho lost his ROH World Championship to Bandido in a hard-fought Title vs Mask bout. At the same pay-per-view, the legend's acolytes, Big Bill and Bryan Keith, failed to unseat Shelton Benjamin and Bobby Lashley for the AEW World Tag Team Championships. In the wake of the pay-per-view on Dynamite, Jericho lashed out at his students over their setback, and for not helping him retain at Dynasty.

However, when Big Bill stood up to his mentor for himself and his tag partner, The Learning Tree threw a violent fit before walking out on The Redwood and The Bad Apple.
