Minecraft has started sending out the free Zombie Horse cape: Here’s how to check if you have it

It has been over a week since the Minecraft Mounts of Mayhem update went live. This game drop brought along a surprise gift for fans, as Mojang announced a free cape themed after the newly added zombie horse mob. Players just had to kill five mobs using the new spear weapon to get this cape. However, there was a catch for players trying to get this free cape.

To get the Zombie Horse cape, you had to complete the challenge in Bedrock Edition. Moreover, only mobs killed in Survival mode were counted for this challenge. Minecraft has started sending out the free Zombie Horse cape to players who finished the challenge.

The Zombie Horse cape challenge started on Friday, December 12, and ended on Monday, December 15. Three days might not have been enough for all players to complete the challenge. Moreover, some players may not have noticed that the challenge was required to be completed in Bedrock Edition and in Survival mode. If you did everything correctly, you would have likely received a notification in Minecraft Bedrock saying, “you have got a new battle-ready cape on the way.”

However, do not worry if you have not received this notification. I also did not get this notification but just today received the Zombie Horse cape in Minecraft Bedrock Edition. Here is how you can check whether you have received the Zombie Horse cape in your Minecraft account.

Follow these steps to see if you have received the Zombie Horse cape in Minecraft or not:

1. Open Minecraft Bedrock Edition.
2. Click on Dressing Room on the right side of the home screen.
3. Click on the cape icon on the left side to go to your cape inventory.
4. If you have the Zombie Horse cape, it should be the last cape in the inventory.

Once you have obtained the Zombie Horse cape in Bedrock Edition, it should become available for Java Edition as well. In rare cases, it may take some time for the cape to appear in Minecraft Java Edition. The Zombie Horse cape is not a Bedrock-exclusive cape, so you should get it in Java Edition sooner or later.

If the cape is missing for you right now but you completed the challenge correctly, it is recommended to be patient. In the official article regarding the Mounts of Mayhem challenges, Mojang did say that it may take up to 30 days for the rewards to be delivered.

If you have received the Zombie Horse cape, equip it and go explore your Minecraft world in a new drip. You might also go and find a zombie horse and ride it while equipping the Zombie Horse cape.
