Draymond Green and Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr had a bit of a disagreement on Monday's 120-97 win over the Orlando Magic. The heated argument between the two was caught on camera. Green later headed to the locker room in the third quarter. He did not return to the game and finished with nine points and seven rebounds.

Following the contest, Kerr confirmed with the media that he got into it with Green on the bench. But he clarified that the star player decided to head to the locker room. The four-time All-Star also told reporters that he thought leaving the game was the best decision at the time.

On Tuesday, NBA insider Marc J. Spears offered to shed some light on what happened. Spears talked about it on the recent edition of "NBA Today."

"I'm hearing too that Draymond's a little frustrated with having to guard centers and having the guys that are 40-50 pounds heavier than him on a nightly basis," Spears said.

Green has always been Kerr's go-to player whenever he wants to go for a small lineup. Early in the forward's career, he's been able to handle his own, despite being 6-foot-6 and 230 pounds. However, he's getting older and no longer has the same quickness and speed that once gave him the upper hand against his frontcourt matchups.

ESPN's Ramona Shelburne also said that she doesn't expect Draymond Green to face punishment over what happened. Shelburne revealed that the star forward spoke with general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. about what happened.

Draymond Green suggests the current 15-15 record could be the reason there are heated moments within the team

The 2025-26 NBA season hasn't been easy for the Golden State Warriors. During the first 30 games of the year, the team has been mediocre. When Draymond Green spoke with the media, he suggested that the Warriors' record could be contributing to the frustrations within the team.

“That’s probably why tempers are flaring,” Green said. “Quite honestly, if everyone is okay with being 15-15 and it’s just whoopty doo. Talk to me if they’re 41-41. Can’t be whoopty doo when you’re 15-15, so something’s gotta give.”

It's been the Warriors' trend this season. Although they haven't been winning many games, they haven't been losing as many either. Draymond Green wants to see consistency from the team as they seek to be in the postseason. Before the start of the year, Golden State was touted to be a playoff team.

It's still early to hit the panic button for the Warriors. On the other hand, a winning record will increase the team's chances of making the playoffs.
