A popular AEW star has just shared an update on their condition following the major injury they sustained two months ago. This looks to be a positive update, as there may be a shift in their recovery timeline.
In early October, Kota Ibushi ended up breaking his femur after falling from the top rope to the ringside during his match with Josh Alexander on an episode of AEW Collision. He needed to be stretchered out of the arena, and he is now on his road to recovery from his injury.
Earlier today, the Golden Star took to Instagram to give an update on his recovery progress. Ibushi revealed a few months ago that he would need around two years to get back to the ring. He has now mentioned that, fortunately, he may not need that long. He now wishes to push forward and do all he can with his rehab. The AEW star urged the fans to wait patiently as he focuses on his recovery.
"I suffered a serious injury. The doctor told me that it would take about two years for me to return to competition. It's been about two months since I was injured. However, it seems that I don't need that. But that doesn't mean I'll take any easy steps. This time, I really want to step into the wrestling ring. So please give me a little more time. My English may be strange, but please forgive me😊" Ibushi wrote.Spoiler on Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes - Check Here!

Kenny Omega recently spoke about Kota Ibushi sustaining an injury in AEW
During the night, when Kota Ibushi sustained his injury, they were supposed to run the angle of Kenny Omega running out post-match to save him from the Don Callis Family. They improvised and went through with the angle, while the medical team tended to Ibushi.
While speaking to SHAK Wrestling last month, Omega spoke about that night. He mentioned how it was a terrible occurrence, and it was hard having to keep the show going despite everything. Ultimately, he accepted that situations like this happen, and he just needed to push forward despite everything.
"Ibushi, another example of something terrible happening that no one expected. That one was really rough on me to kind of do the ‘the show must go on’ sort of (…) it was hard for me to accept that. But the truth of the matter is it must go on. It just—that's life. Life goes on. The show goes on. And so you have to take the lemon sometimes and begrudgingly make lemonade. And that's what we're doing here for sure,” Omega said. [H/T: Wrestle Purists' X handle]“Ibushi, another example of something terrible happening that no one expected. Following this terrible situation in AEW, it is great to see that Ibushi is recovering on a great scale. Fans should continue to stay tuned for his updates, as his return may come sooner than expected.
