Manchester United fans on social media are slamming Leny Yoro after the club's 2-1 Premier League loss to Aston Villa. Many believe that the Frenchman's failure to mark Morgan Rogers for both goals led to the defeat.

Aston Villa made it 10 wins in as many matches after beating the Red Devils at Villa Park. The home side took the lead in the 45th minute, after Rogers cut inside from the left and curled the ball past Senne Lammens.

However, Matheus Cunha scored three minutes into injury time to pull the Red Devils level at the break. However, Ruben Amorim's side could not do much in the second half, and Rogers made it 2-1 just 12 minutes after the restart.

The Red Devils fans were quick to point fingers at Yoro after the defeat and posted:

Yoro played for villa today

Yoro fully cost us this game. Well done mate👍

We deserved to win this two mistakes by yoro have cost us

Ultimately yoro cost us points again

Yoro has been utterly disgraceful. We played well actually

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim spoke to the media after the loss, saying that they knew how Aston Villa would play and trained for it. However, he believes that they could not execute the plan well and admitted that the better team won. He said:

“We already knew that Aston Villa play with everybody inside and we needed to overload that situation. We have been training like that. We did different options, we can use different starting elevens depending on the game, so we are improving. Again I think we deserved so much more today but the better team did not win.”

The loss left Manchester United seventh in the Premier League table, while Aston Villa sit third, and remain three points behind leaders Arsenal.

Manchester United manager on handing debuts to academy stars

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim spoke to the media after handing debuts to Shea Lacey and Jack Fletcher in the defeat to Aston Villa, saying that he likes to bring the youngsters into the first team. He said:

“I am a manager for six years and even Sporting is all about the academy, so it's about the history. Every manager wants to bring players through from the academy and not spend money because this gives value to the manager. I just want to win and want to be certain that the players that come in from the academy are not going to suffer too much. I'm just trying to help the club, it doesn't matter if it's from the academy or abroad.”

Manchester United face Newcastle United next in the Premier League, but will be without Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo, who picked up injuries.
