The rumours of the son of a WWE Hall of Famer joining AEW under Tony Khan's leadership have now started to surface. This led to a lot of speculations among fans regarding the future of the Legend's son. The Hall of Famer in question is none other than the Icon Sting.

Sting's son Steve Borden made his first appearance for the Jacksonville-based company during his father's entrance at last year's AEW Revolution. Both sons of Sting dressed up like the older versions of their father for the entrance and also hit some of his iconic moves during the match.

Sting's son Steve Borden recently competed in a dark match in AEW before last week's Winter is Coming edition of Dynamite. This led to a lot of speculation regarding him signing with Tony Khan's company. A recent report came out stating that the people backstage in the company were very happy with his performance and that his signing is inevitable.

This garnered a lot of different reactions from the fans. While some were appreciating Borden's physique and asked Darby to mentor him, some termed him as another nepo baby.

"They should start him off with Ring of Honor. There's no need to rush him. Let him gain some experience before putting him in the deep end. Either that or have Darby mentor him like Sting did with Darby." A fan wrote.

@WrestlePurists @FightfulSelect They should start him off with Ring of Honor. There's no need to rush him. Let him gain some experience before putting him in the deep end. Either that or have Darby mentor him like Sting did with Darby.

"Eh, kind of don’t like this. Hate all nepo type stuff" Another fan wrote.

@WrestlePurists @FightfulSelect Eh, kind of don’t like this. Hate all nepo type stuff.

Check out some other fan reactions here:

@WrestlePurists @FightfulSelect I say let the dude work some indies for most of 2026 and get more experience. He should make his TV debut at next year's winter is coming

@WrestlePurists @FightfulSelect I'd put him on the gas and call him Super Sting.

@WrestlePurists @FightfulSelect Great signing...another great agile big men like Kyle...this is what AEW needs more of..they need to get away from guys like Darby & Cassidy

@WrestlePurists @FightfulSelect Looks more like a wrestler than Adam Cole does..

Sting recently made an appearance at AEW WrestleDream

At WrestleDream, Darby Allin faced Jon Moxley in an "I Quit" match. The two stars had been feuding ever since Darby made his return at All In: Texas and helped Hangman Adam Page beat Moxley to capture the AEW World Championship. It was a brutal match filled with interferences from the Death Riders.

However, Sting made a surprise appearance in the match and helped his mentee Darby Allin pick up the win. He came out with his iconic baseball bat and started ambushing the Death Riders before helping Darby win.

Fans around the world were delighted to see Sting back in an All Elite Wrestling ring.
