Gunther recently opened up about John Cena's final WWE match. The Ring General defeated the 48-year-old in his retirement match at Saturday Night's Main Event earlier this month.
Speaking on The Ringer Wrestling Show, the former leader of Imperium discussed Cena smiling before he tapped out at the end of the match. Gunther stated that he had no problem with Cena sending a message to his fans, but it doesn't change the fact that he tapped out to his Sleeper Hold.
“I was satisfied with everything to be honest. First of all, I think it’s a very big achievement to take people on a ride like that with a Sleeper Hold. I think that’s a very big achievement. That’s the message he wanted to send, and that’s his right, and that’s what he wanted to, the message he wanted to send to his fans. That’s fine. It doesn’t change the outcome if he’s smiling or not," he said.
