IndyCar and F1 legend Emerson Fittipaldi’s grandson, Enzo Fittipaldi, was announced as the driver for HMD Motorsports in the Indy NXT series for the 2026 season. The announcement came on October 30, 2025, as Fittipaldi will partner with Jack Beeton at the team for the upcoming season.
Enzo is the son of Emerson Fittipaldi's daughter Juliana and is the brother of former IndyCar driver Pietro Fittipaldi. Enzo Fittipaldi raced in the junior Formula categories across Europe before making it to FRECA in 2019, where he finished as the runner-up.
The Brazilian raced in the FIA F3 championship in 2020 and 2021, and made the step to F2 midway through 2021. Emerson Fittipaldi's grandson signed with the Red Bull junior team during his time in F2 and won a couple of races. He continued to race in F2 until the end of the 2024 season, and then raced in Endurance Championships for the current racing season.
Enzo Fittipaldi for his first taste of IndyCar with Dale Coyne Racing in October 2023, when he tested with the team at the Sebring International Raceway. In 2024, the Brazilian tested with Arrow McLaren at the Thermal Club in November, before participating in another test with the team earlier this month.
Speaking about the 2025 Sebring International Raceway test with Arrow McLaren, Enzo Fittipaldi said,
“It was unbelievable.We tested many different setups, and I did my best to give the most detailed feedback possible. It was a very productive day. We started at 8:30 in the morning and finished at 5:30 p.m. A lot of laps, a lot of data and a lot of test items were successfully evaluated. It was a very, very fun day.”HMD Motorsports came out on October 30, 2025, and revealed that two-time Indy 500 winner Emerson Fittipaldi's grandson will race for the team in the Indy NXT series in the 2026 season.

After the 14 October IndyCar test with Arrow McLaren, Enzo Fittipaldi participated in the Chris Griffis Memorial Test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course on October 27, 2025, with HMD Motorsports in the Indy NXT car. Just a couple of days after the test, the team announced him as the driver for the 2026 season.
“I’m proud to begin this new chapter with HMD Motorsports in the 2026 INDY NXT season. Racing in Europe gave me valuable experience that made me a stronger driver. Now feels like the perfect time to take this step. My goal is INDYCAR, and this season is where that journey begins,” said Fittipaldi as he signed with the teamEmerson Fittipaldi is a two-time F1 champion who won McLaren's first F1 title. The Brazilian then went on to race in IndyCar (then CART) and won the 1989 title, as well as two Indy 500s.
