Arsenal fans are unhappy with Piero Hincapié's performance in their 4-1 win over Aston Villa in the Premier League. Many have called out the loanee, urging him to do more as they look to win the league title this season.

Unai Emery was unable to extend his 11-match winning streak, losing at his former club's home ground, Emirates Stadium. His side were beaten in the league clash, but remain third in the table halfway through the season.

Gabriel Magalhaes opened the scoring just three minutes after the break, following a goalless first half. The defender, who was making his first start in nearly two months, gave them the all-important lead in the game.

Martin Zubimendi doubled the lead just four minutes later, and Arteta's side took full control of the game. Leandro Trossard made it 3-0 with a superb finish from outside the box, before Gabriel Jesus sealed the win in the 78th minute.

Despite the win over Aston Villa, some Arsenal fans were pointing fingers at Hincapie for his errors in the game and posted:

Arsenal have been poor this half. Odegaard has had a lot of possession but his distribution has been poor. Hincapie is not an upgrade on MLS. Saka has been crowded out and the final ball from everyone has been poor. #ARSAVL

Hincapie got cleaned out by a ghost 😆😆😆

Hincapie ffs how can you be so shit

Hincapie isn’t a left back 😂😂

Hincapie is clumsy as f**k

we gotta cancel this hincapie loan

While the fans worry about Hincapie's performance, Arteta is thinking about Declan Rice. He said:

"Declan got a big kick in his knee at the start of the match [vs Brighton], actually, and it had a massive swell up, so this game was too early for him. I hope so [he will not miss much action]. Once the swelling comes down he can start to function and he will be fine."

The Englishman missed the win over Aston Villa with a swollen knee.

Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus on scoring against Aston Villa

Arsenal star Gabriel Jesus spoke to Sky Sports after scoring against Aston Villa, saying that he was regaining his confidence. The Brazilian added that he was thankful to God and said:

“It’s very clear where I’m wearing this t-shirt. Jesus saved my life from the beginning, when I was born, I didn’t know it yet. Through the tough moments in my life, I realised we are nothing without Jesus, so I want to glorify his name. He made a huge difference in these tough moments, so in the best moments, I want to glorify his name.” “To start the year, the way I was playing, confidence back, then for some reason, the Lord stopped me. Then, I learned a lot of things to do better as a person & a human being. I think it’s amazing how Jesus works on our lives. Sometimes you keep questioning, doubting yourself, but you never know what’s going to happen, what Jesus prepares for you, so I just say, ‘Keep going, trust in the process & trust Jesus’.”

Arsenal have extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to five points, with Manchester City set to play Sunderland on New Year's Day.
