WWE could reportedly bring back a former World Champion on RAW. If this happens, it will mark his return to the red brand after nearly 9 years.

Chris Jericho has been part of the AEW roster since 2019. He was a driving force behind the company's success over the years. Jericho was the company's inaugural World Champion and featured prominently on TV. However, he has not been seen on TV since earlier this year. For the past few weeks, there has been speculation that the former World Champion could be making his return to WWE. Jericho has also teased this by posting clips from his time in the Stamford-based promotion.

During a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that he has heard plans from WWE for Chris Jericho, but didn't hear that he was signed. He also noted that the AEW star could legally appear on RAW next week. If he does show up on the red brand, this will make it his first appearance on the flagship show since April 2017.

"I've heard plans from WWE for him but not that he was signed. That goes back months. He could be on Raw next Monday legally. There have been rumors of that. Knowing him, I think that he'd want to debut when people don't expect it." [H/T Wrestling Observer on X]

Jonathan Coachman suggested that Chris Jericho should replace Adam Pearce as WWE RAW GM

The reports of Chris Jericho's WWE return have been growing in recent weeks, especially since his contract with AEW expires this week. People have even given their opinion on the sort of role he could play if he returns.

Jonathan Coachman recently took to social media to point out that Jericho has not wrestled in a long time, and if he does return to WWE, then he should replace Adam Pearce as the RAW GM.

"I have seen all of the wrestling sites jump on this one with very little to no proof that this is the case. But If this is true. No one is talking about what role he would play. We haven’t see him wrestle in months. He’s one of my favorites all time but if I am using him the best way I get rid of Pierce and out Jericho in the authority role which he would absolutely crush. The back stage and in ring promos would be awesome. He doesn’t need to be a top in ring talent because he would need to wrestle at least 3-4 times a month and not sure if he wants to or can perform high level 30 minute matches thr much."

It remains to be seen if the rumors of Chris Jericho's return are true.
