The San Francisco Giants just reached a free agent contract agreement with a centerfielder who they'll love having on their team.

Harrison Bader has officially left the Philadelphia Phillies in free agency for the Giants.

The signing is a two-year contract, reported The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal on Monday.

Bader had spent the second half of the 2025 season with the Phillies after being traded from the Twins. In his time in Philadelphia, he was on fire, with an .824 OPS.

The 31-year old Bader will be a lot of fun to watch in the spacious centerfield in San Francisco. He's a Gold Glove outfielder.

Bader was originally a third-round pick of the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2015 MLB Draft out of the University of Florida.

He has played for the Cardinals, Yankees, Reds, Mets, Twins and Phillies.

In his nine-year MLB career, he has a .247 average, 130 doubles, 88 home runs and 105 steals.

Bader's combined 2025 season, in which he hit well with the Twins and then even better with the Phillies, was his second-best season by Wins Above Replacement in his career, after 2021.

The Giants will be hoping he can keep that rolling out to the Bay Area.

Bader was really the only MLB-ready centerfielder left in free agency, and it could prove to be a key pickup for San Francisco.
