Giants, Raiders and Lions could have interest in released Titans $50 million starter

A new center has hit the free-agent market and could draw interest from the New York Giants, Las Vegas Raiders and Detroit Lions.

The Tennessee Titans announced on Wednesday that they have released center Lloyd Cushenberry with a failed physical designation just two seasons after signing the veteran to a four-year, $50 million contract.

Cushenberry struggled in 2025, but he was also in his first season back from a torn Achilles, so that might explain his issues.

Cushenberry was much better in the three campaigns prior, so we would view last season as an outlier. Even still, that showing will likely hurt his market, which is going to make him a cheap option with upside.

As of this writing, it remains unclear what injury Cushenberry is dealing with, but assuming it isn't significant, he should draw plenty of interest on the open market, with the Lions, Raiders and Giants being among potential suitors.

The Lions desperately need an upgrade at center after the struggles of Graham Glasgow last season. Glasgow is also a clear cut candidate for Detroit.

It's possible Detroit will slide Tate Ratledge over to center, something head coach Dan Campbell said is on the table. If not, Cushenberry could be an option for the Lions.

In Las Vegas, the Raiders don't have a locked-in center yet. It's possible the new staff will want to move Jackson Powers-Johnson over to center after he played exclusively at guard in 2025, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.

As for the Giants, John Michael Schmitz has not lived up to expectations and is now entering the final year of his contract. Adding a proven veteran like Cushenberry would make sense for Big Blue.
