The Toronto Maple Leafs lost again, and this time to a struggling Nashville Predators. The Leafs lost 5-3 in this Saturday's game, with captain Auston Matthews' second consecutive game without a point.

Before this game, they suffered a 4-0 shutout loss to the Washington Capitals. If we take a look at their previous seven games, they have lost five games. This is not a good sign for a team that has failed to go deep in the playoffs for nearly two decades. So far, they are is 15-14-5 and placed last in the Atlantic Division, leaving the fans upset.

After the loss to the Predators, NHL analyst Nick Alberga raised a question on X, saying,

"How would you fix the Toronto Maple Leafs?"

Soon, comments poured in suggesting different moves to help the team.

"Get rid of Mathews and rebuild," One fan bluntly suggested the Leafs to trade their captain.

"Dump Domi, Dump McMann, somehow find a way to get Forsberg and Sherwood without giving up Danford. Find a puck moving D to roll out with McCabe. How? With what assets? Idk. Get creative." Another fan gave a more in-depth analysis.

"Start with the easy change, replace Bérubé with a puck possession interim coach. Reassess how everyone performed at the end of the season under a new gm." Another fan wrote.

The reactions focused on players and management-related changes. Here are some more reactions from fans on potential fixes for the Maple Leafs.

"Matthews to Dal for Hintz, Johnson and a first, Nylander to COL for Girard/Manson, Reilly to SEA for Dunn. Fire Bérubé for Boudreau," A fan wrote. "Move them to Houston start all over with a new expansion franchise in Toronto. Too many bad contracts to fix this team very weak GM." One fan mentioned. "Trade mathiews and build around knies and nylander hes too prone for injuries unfortunately," A fan focused on Leafs' captain struggles with injuries.

Maple Leafs lost to Predators despite strong start

In the Predators game, the Maple Leafs started strong when Nicolas Roy scored at 1:32 of the opening period. The Predators answered in the second, as Erik Haula redirected a point shot on the power play to tie it 1-1.

However, Toronto regained the lead when John Tavares scored. But Nashville tied it late in the period on Adam Wilsby’s wrist shot.

Talking about this early effort, Matthews said Toronto’s process improved, saying,

"I thought we had a better process tonight, honestly,"

In the third, Luke Evangelista gave Nashville a 3-2 lead with a goal. Steven Stamkos added an empty-netter before Bobby McMann pulled Toronto within one. Later, Cole Smith scored to seal the Predators' 5-3 win.
