A former WWE champion mocked John Cena ahead of his final appearance in his hometown of Boston tomorrow night on RAW. Tomorrow night's edition of the red brand will air live from the TD Garden, and it was announced earlier today by RAW General Manager Adam Pearce that the 48-year-old would be kicking off the show.
Xavier Woods of The New Day took to social media today to taunt John Cena ahead of his final appearance in his hometown on WWE television. Woods suggested that Cena would probably spend a significant amount of time talking during this week's edition of RAW.
"Heading to Boston for @wwe monday night raw, hopefully @johncena is in and out quick. But its his last show in his hometown so hes prolly gonna yap for like 45 minutes 🙄," he wrote.Grayson Waller has aligned with The New Day on RAW after his tag team with Austin Theory came to an end. Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston were the World Tag Team Champions earlier this year but lost the titles to The Judgment Day's Finn Balor and JD McDonagh on the June 30 edition of WWE RAW. AJ Styles and Dragon Lee are the reigning World Tag Team Champions on the red brand and defeated The Judgment Day last Monday night to retain the titles.
Former WWE writer criticizes John Cena's match at Crown Jewel 2025
Wrestling legend Vince Russo recently criticized John Cena's victory over AJ Styles last month at Crown Jewel.
Speaking on Sportskeeda's BroDown show, Russo revealed the issue he had with the bout. The veteran complained about fans calling the spots in the match and wondered if that was going to be the future of the business.
"You know what I found fascinating, and I think this may be the next wave. Obviously, the gimmick in that match where like they were doing tributes to everybody. But, bro, the marks were calling out spots, and they were doing them. Is that the next wave? Are the marks going to start calling the spots?"
