It's been five years since right-hander Trevor Bauer pitched in Major League Baseball.

The 35-year-old, who spent 10 years in the big leagues from 2012-21 with four different organizations (Arizona Diamondbacks, Cleveland Guardians, Cincinnati Reds, Los Angeles Dodgers), recently signed a contract with the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball's Long Island Ducks

Bauer and the Dodgers agreed to a three-year, $102 million contract before the 2021 season. He had just won the NL Cy Young Award after posting a 1.73 ERA in 11 starts during the COVID-19 pandemic-shortened 60-game season in 2020 with the Reds.

MLB suspended Bauer 324 games for violating the league's joint sexual assault and domestic violence policy in 2022 -- the suspension was later reduced to 194 games.

Since leaving MLB, Bauer has signed contracts to play in Japan's Nippon Professional Baseball (2023, 2025) and Mexico's Liga Mexicana de Béisbol (2024).

Bauer is scheduled as the Ducks' Opening Night starter on Tuesday, April 21.
