One of the coolest traditions in sports is the national champions visiting the White House. The Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Eagles recently made the trip to the Oval Office to take in the festivities despite much controversy swirling around whether or not they would do so.
Now, another champion has decided to go to the White House: The Florida Gators men's basketball team. Florida defeated Houston in a thrilling NCA Tournament title game, and Todd Golden's team has set a date to go to the White House, per college hoops insider Jon Rothstein.
"The Florida Gators --- the 2025 National Champions --- will be visiting the White House on Wednesday, per a school spokesman."
The Gators making the trip isn't a surprise, either. During the championship celebration, Golden said he was looking forward to it, per Graham Hall of 247Sports.
"I've been told we're going to the White House, so I'm pretty excited about that," Golden said. "We'll have to get everybody back together to be able to go do that."
Hall also reports that the majority of Florida's roster and staff is expected to make the trip to the White House.
"The entirety of Florida's coaching staff and the majority of Florida's roster and is expected to be at the White House, though multiple players will not be in attendance due to being overseas. It's uncertain whether or not former Florida guard Denzel Aberdeen, who transferred to Kentucky, will make the trip. Forward Sam Alexis, who transferred to Indiana, is expected to make the trip, though it's worth noting plans could change in the next three days. "
So, Florida is going to soak it up at least one more time as they reunite and now visit the Oval Office.
