David Ortiz is one of the greatest left-handed sluggers in baseball history.
His son, David Ortiz Jr., has a swing much like his father's.
And the professional baseball world is just getting its first real look at Big Papi's son. Do we call him Papito, little Papi?
Ortiz Jr. is an 18-year old prospect in the Texas Rangers organization. He signed with the Rangers in the summer of 2024.
He's currently playing in the Dominican Summer League.
Check out this swing on what records show to be Ortiz Jr.'s first pro home run:

There's very little in-depth reporting on Ortiz Jr. so far. We know he was signed out of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
It'll probably be a little while before prospect analysts are able to give their full view of the younger Ortiz.
In the meantime, though, fans of Big Papi can just watch that home run video on a loop until he hits another one. Because if son is anything like father, there will soon be another one.
