Ninth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime will take on Alexander Bublik in the semifinals of the Paris Masters 2025.

Auger-Aliassime rallied from a set down in the first three matches this week. He staged a comeback to beat Francisco Comesana, Alexandre Muller and Daniel Altmaier to set up a quarterfinal showdown with reigning Shanghai Masters champion Valentin Vacherot.

While Auger-Aliassime was made to toil hard in all of his previous matches at the Paris Masters, that wasn't the case against Vacherot. The Canadian broke his opponent's serve twice in each set to register a comfortable 6-2, 6-2 victory.

Bublik scored straight-set wins over Alexei Popyrin, Corentin Moutet, and fourth seed Taylor Fritz to make the last eight here, where he was up against sixth seed Alex de Minaur. Neither player conceded any ground during their service games in the first set, which led to a tie-break.

De Minaur gained the upper hand in the tie-break to claim the set. While he was able to keep up with Bublik for the rest of the match, the latter raised his level during crucial moments. The Kazakh secured a break of serve in each of the next two sets to wrap up a 6-7 (5), 6-4, 7-5 win.

Auger-Aliassime was thoroughly tested in his first three matches, and then played his easiest match of the week in the quarterfinals. Bublik, on the other hand, was made to work hard by de Minaur in the previous round after three routine matches.

Auger-Aliassime has advanced to his first Masters 1000 semifinal since his runner-up finish at the Madrid Open 2024, while Bublik has progressed to his first semifinal at this level. Both players have had a resurgence over the past few months.

Auger-Aliassime has a 18-4 record since August, while Bublik has compiled a 21-5 record since July. The former has a slim 3-2 advantage over the latter in their rivalry. Their rivalry has followed a pattern so far, with each player alternating between wins. If the pattern holds, then this will be Bublik's turn to win.
