Fantasy football start or sit Week 16: DJ Moore, Colston Loveland, Cole Kmet

1 hour ago 2

The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers will square off in a highly anticipated matchup on Saturday night and wide receiver DJ Moore and tight ends Colston Loveland and Cole Kmet.

While Kmet is questionable to play on the injury report, he told reporters during the week that he'll play. Kmet's prediction is backed up by the fact that he logged a full practice on Thursday.

As for Moore and Loveland, there are no injury concerns for either player, so both will be operating at 100% on Saturday night.

Now, a look at whether or not Kmet, Loveland and/or Moore should be in your fantasy football lineups in Week 16.

DJ Moore start or sit advice

With Luther Burden and Rome Odunze both out, Moore is serving as the clear-cut WR1 for the Bears in Week 16.

It has been a disappointing season overall for Moore, who enters this game ranked as WR35 overall. However, due to the injuries to Burden and Odunze, and with Moore coming off a 4/69/2 showing, he's back on the starting radar.

The matchup against the Packers is a middle-of-the-road one for Moore, as Green Bay is ceding the 15th-most fantasy points per contest to wide receivers in 2025.

With a decent matchup and two receivers ruled out, Moore is a viable starting option.

Verdict: Start

Colston Loveland start or sit advice

Loveland has overtaken Kmet as the No. 1 pass-catching tight end in Chicago and while he only ranks as TE20 overall this season, it's important to note that the rookie didn't really get going until about the midway point of the campaign.

Since his breakout game in Week 9, Loveland ranks as TE5 overall, making him a borderline TE1 play on a weekly basis.

The Packers present a fairly tough matchup for tight ends, with Green Bay giving up the 10th-fewest fantasy points per game to the position this season.

But that's not an overly scary matchup, and with the Bears down a pair of key pass-catchers on Saturday night, we like Colston's chances of turning in a strong performance as the No. 1 tight end for the Bears.

Verdict: Start

Kmet is in the midst of another down season in 2025, with the veteran tight end ranking as TE37 overall this year.

Kmet's downfall from an elite fantasy football tight end in 2023 to where he is now directly coincides with the addition of Caleb Williams. It also hasn't helped that Loveland has emerged as a key contributor in Chicago's offense.

Sure, the Bears will need more out of Kmet in Week 16 with Burden and Odunze both sidelined due to injury, but he's also got a tough matchup against a Packers defense giving up the 10th-fewest fantasy points per game this season.

With what we've seen out of Kmet since 2024, and with his demotion to the team's TE2 spot along with a tough matchup against Green Bay, we can't suggest the veteran as a starting option this week.

Verdict: Sit
