Tonight's AEW show has featured upset after upset. After Mercedes Moné's shocking loss, another top champion has just been pinned in a match with major implications.

The Continental Classic is ramping up with each of the 12 competitors competing in almost all of their matches in the round-robin portion of the tournament. Despite this, there are still no clear semifinalists from either the Gold or Blue League. Tonight's results have just made things a little more complicated.

Earlier tonight, 'Jungle' Jack Perry was able to score his first point in the tournament after defeating 'Speedball' Mike Bailey. A win from Speedball would have put him first in the Gold League with nine points, but since this wasn't the case, he remains tied with several names at six points.

In the main event of AEW Collision: Holiday Bash, Kazuchika Okada and Kevin Knight faced off in a Gold League match. Okada was one of those with six points, while Knight was at three points only. It seemed as if the Rainmaker was going to take the points, as he was in control of the match and had a lot of opportunities to put this away.

At a crucial point in the match, the Jet was able to outmaneuver the AEW Unified Champion and pin him via a Small Package. Kevin Knight's win tonight has made things more complicated, as five men are now tied for the top spots of the Gold League. Only Jack Perry is at three points.

This is a major development in the Continental Classic as those in the Gold League are down to their last one or two matches each. It remains to be seen whether things will be settled during these final bouts or if a potential tiebreaker is needed. Only two stars will be advancing to Worlds End for the chance to become the AEW Continental Champion.
