Fantasy Football QB Rankings Week 2: Who to start, best sleepers, top busts

1 hour ago 2

Week 1 of the 2026 NFL season offered many fantasy football insights, but it also posed tough quarterback choices for Week 2. Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson demonstrated their elite dual-threat capabilities, and Caleb Williams scored four touchdowns in Chicago's 59-37 victory over Carolina.

Injuries are already affecting the quarterback landscape. Sam Darnold has been ruled out for Seattle, with Drew Lock expected to start. Meanwhile, Kyler Murray remains in concussion protocol. Atlanta's QB situation is also uncertain, as Tua Tagovailoa deals with an oblique injury and Michael Penix Jr. is working his way back.

Keep reading for our full breakdown of the quarterback position for Week 2 of the 2026 fantasy season.

Week 2 QB Sleepers

Bryce Young, Panthers

Young is my favorite sleeper after a strong Week 1 performance. He threw for 448 yards and three touchdowns in his most recent meeting with Atlanta, and NFL Fantasy notes that he's averaged 19.1 fantasy points per game since Week 11 of last season. Atlanta is also dealing with multiple defensive injuries.

Tyler Shough, Saints

Shough is a solid sleeper after showing plenty of downfield aggression in Week 1. He produced more than 400 air yards and three touchdowns, and a road matchup against Baltimore could force New Orleans into a pass-heavy game script.

Week 2 QB Busts

Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs

Mahomes remains an elite quarterback in real life, but I recommend lowering his Week 2 fantasy outlook. He showed signs of rust after returning from significant knee surgery, and the Chiefs might continue to limit his workload as he regains his rhythm.

Bo Nix, Broncos

Nix was a major fantasy letdown in Week 1, finishing as QB31 with only 131 passing yards and 2 rushing yards. The Week 2 matchups don't inspire confidence, especially since Jacksonville's defense is regarded as one of the league's best. SI listed Nix among quarterbacks to avoid this week.
