Week 1 showcased many surprises at the tight end position, and these performances are likely to influence fantasy lineup decisions for Week 2. Isaiah Likely, Dalton Kincaid, and Dallas Goedert all made strong cases for higher rankings, while some well-known players underperformed.
Trey McBride continues to lead after a heavy workload, with nine catches for 95 yards on 13 targets. Kincaid also merits a significant rise after converting six targets into five receptions for 130 yards against Houston. Likely's eight catches, 78 yards, and two TDs keep him firmly in the weekly TE1 discussion.
Injuries are also noteworthy this week. Brock Bowers' status remains a key focus, as he missed Week 1 due to a knee injury. If he returns, he should be near the top of tight ends; if he remains out, Michael Mayer emerges as one of the best streaming options.
Read on for our breakdown of the tight end position for Week 2 of the 2026 fantasy season.

Week 2 TE Sleepers
Michael Mayer, Las Vegas Raiders
If Bowers stays sidelined, Mayer is the tight end to monitor. In Week 1, he was heavily involved, leading the Raiders with seven targets and running 23 routes. Facing the Chargers, who recently let Trey McBride score 24.5 fantasy points, makes Mayer especially attractive if Bowers is out.
Week 2 TE Busts
Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons
Pitts is a difficult player to trust after an extremely quiet Week 1. He saw only one target and finished with zero fantasy points despite running 21 routes. Atlanta's quarterback situation also adds uncertainty, making Pitts a risky Week 2 start even with Carolina on the schedule.
