Formula 1 is on the brink of history heading into this weekend — the circuit will head south for the Mexican Grand Prix on Sunday.

The 19th race of the 2026 campaign has major implications for Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli. The 20-year-old is on track to become the youngest Drivers' Champion in F1 history, and a dominant win at the United States Grand Prix last week has inched him even closer to the title. 

In Mexico City, the odds will be in Antonelli's favor. With an established 123-point lead in the rankings, the Italian can clinch the championship as long as he finishes ninth or higher. If Antonelli finishes 10th or lower, George Russell or Lewis Hamilton could delay his title celebration with a win of their own.

Mexican Grand Prix 2026 start time

The 2026 Mexican Grand Prix will take place at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City on Sunday, Nov. 1 and will begin at 2 p.m. local time.
