After opening NBA Cup play Friday night, the Hornets and 76ers return to the conventional schedule Saturday with a Halloween evening matchup.
All has been as expected so far this season for Philadelphia, which made the biggest splash of the offseason by adding LeBron James and Jaylen Brown. The two veterans have complemented Tyrese Maxey, who remains the go-to option on offense, and Joel Embiid, and the Sixers look strong all around in the early going.
The Hornets' results have been more mixed, but then so was their offseason. The key piece they got back in unloading LaMelo Ball to Minnesota, Naz Reid, was benched for the second half of Wednesday's loss in Detroit because he "didn't meet our standards" in the opening half, according to coach Charles Lee.
Charlotte's attack runs through Brandon Miller either way, but he can't do it all himself — particularly against a team as deep as the Sixers.
Will the Hornets be back on the same page Saturday or will the Sixers pick up a road win? Here's all you need to know to tune in.
