Former UFC star Casey Kenney was recently handed a six-month prison sentence after he pleaded guilty to one charge of felony aggravated assault. He initially faced additional assault charges, one disorderly conduct charge, and a kidnapping charge. These were dismissed as part of his plea agreement.

Kenney's legal trouble stems from an arrest in July in Phoenix, after the police responded to a domestic violence call. Paramedics reportedly treated a woman for injuries, and she was interviewed by investigators on the scene.

Per MMA Fighting, the once-promising bantamweight contender will remain on probation for three years. He will complete a substance abuse and domestic violence offender treatment program. He was also ordered to stay away from the victim and refrain from possessing or consuming alcohol.

Kenney has a professional record of 16-4 with one draw, and last lost a split decision against Song Yadong at UFC 265 in August 2021. Before that, he lost to Dominick Cruz via split decision at UFC 259 in March 2021. He was notably cut from the UFC roster after his arrest.

When Megan Anderson slammed Casey Kenney for his "disgusting behavior"

In 2021, Casey Kenney found himself in hot water after making some impolite remarks about former UFC women's featherweight star Megan Anderson during a podcast appearance.

For context, Kenney joined Sean O'Malley and coach Tim Welch on the TimboSugarShow podcast in January 2021. During their conversation, Welch asked Kenney if he would "sm*sh" Anderson. Kenney replied:

“Probably not, man. She’s not too… Well, I mean, if it came down to it and it was like 5 a.m. or 4; she’s a 5 a.m.-er, four a.m.-er. Just us two hanging out.”

Reacting to Kenney's comments, Anderson slammed the UFC veteran in an X post:

“I guess MMA is a line of work where you can publicly talk about whether you'd have s*x with a coworker in an utterly degrading way and face zero consequences. Disgusting behavior, and it's unfortunate that he'll be fighting on my card in March."
