The Seattle Seahawks are one of the top teams in the NFL through eight weeks of the season, and it's thanks in large part to the incredible defensive and special teams performances.
On offense, Sam Darnold and his connection with Jaxon Smith-Njigba have made the passing attack a great one, but despite having two solid running backs, the rushing attack hasn't been great.
Bill Barnwell of ESPN linked Seattle to two potential trade targets at the deadline to improve said struggling rushing attack.
Seahawks linked to two players to improve much-maligned rushing attack
"Grey Zabel has settled in as one of the better guards in the league as a rookie, and the Seahawks are set at tackle with Abraham Lucas and Charles Cross," Barnwell writes, "but this running game wouldn't suffer from adding another lineman on the interior."
For Seattle, adding another offensive lineman, either at center or right guard, would be a good way to help Zach Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker III improve in the running game.
Those are two good running backs, and the current production isn't enough considering how good they've been in their NFL careers. Adding more help along the interior of the offensive line should be a priority for the Seahawks at the deadline.
Barnwell identified two players who could help the Seahawks. The first is Las Vegas Raiders center Jackson Powers-Johnson. He'd be a more expensive pickup, as a 22-year-old second-year center, but if Seattle decides to break the bank, he's a good trade target.

The other lineman Barnwell mentioned is veteran guard Kevin Zeitler. He's a 35-year-old who's on a one-year contract with the Tennessee Titans. With the Titans heading towards a top draft choice, Zeitler, on a one-year deal, could be a reasonable trade pickup for Seattle.
Both of those linemen would be a huge help for the Seattle rushing attack. While Powers-Johnson would be very expensive, he's likely the best player the Seahawks could reasonably add at the deadline.
The Seahawks are 5-2, and likely buyers at the 2025 trade deadline. While there have been rumors about the Seahawks adding a running back, their bigger need is along the offensive line, and specifically at center or right guard.
John Schneider is likely buying at the deadline, and Barnwell identified interior offensive line as the biggest need, and named Powers-Johnson and Zeitler as trade targets for the Seahawks to improve the blocking up front.
