The Miami Heat enter tonight's game against the Utah Jazz on a bit of a slide, having lost two of their last three games including a heartbreaking defeat to the Boston Celtics by two points.
Although the 16-win Jazz prove to be an easier matchup, the Heat will be shorthanded once again, a trend that has been all too common for Miami this season.
For starters, they'll be without Pelle Larsson due to a forearm injury. Their leading scorer, Norman Powell is also out, sidelined with a back injury.
Lastly, Tyler Herro has been ruled out again due to a rib injury. Ahead of the matchup, head coach Erik Spoelstra didn't have much encouraging news to provide on Herro's possible return.
According to NBA insider Anthony Chiang, Spoelstra claimed that Herro is continuing to make progress, although there's still no timetable for his return.
As the Heat play their 55th game of the season tonight, this will be Herro's 44th game missed, having dealt with both rib and ankle injuries.
In 11 games played for Miami this season, Herro has made 10 starts and is averaging 21.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and one steal.
That said, his unavailability is a large reason why the Heat have been unable to gain momentum and sit eighth place in the Eastern Conference with a 28-26 record.
Following Monday's game against the Jazz, Miami will face the New Orleans Pelicans away from home in their last game before the All-Star break.
