Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade on Instagram on Saturday sent a massive shoutout to Utah Jazz guard Keyonte George after he led the Jazz to a wild finish against the Detroit Pistons on Friday night.
Wade, who was making his broadcast debut on Amazon Prime’s “NBA on Prime,” praised the former Baylor star and referenced his jersey number. George wears the No. 3, the same number Wade wore during his 16 years with the Heat.
“The kid can HOOP and he's wearing the right number,” Wade wrote in his Instagram Story. “Take note Utah Jazz.”•

Keyonte George led the Jazz to a shock 131-129 win over the No. 1 team in the East. He recorded 31 points, seven rebounds and eight assists, as Utah snapped a four-game losing run. George scored the game-winning point for the Jazz with 2.1 seconds left on the clock.
The Jazz were up by 129-125 points after a back-court steal and dunk by George with about a minute remaining. However, the Pistons fought back with Cade Cunningham leveling the score after hitting two free throws to tie it 129–129 late in the game. In the final possession, Utah held the ball and ran their play, which resulted in George’s clutch floater to take the lead.
Detroit had one last chance, but Cunningham’s last-second attempt didn’t fall, which sealed the win for Utah. The 2021 NBA draft first pick ended the game with 29 points, 17 assists and five rebounds.
Dwyane Wade speaks on the similarities between himself and rookie VJ Edgecombe
Dwyane Wade gave his take on the comparison between his playing style and that of Philadelphia 76ers rookie VJ Edgecombe. Wade said this during Amazon’s “NBA on Prime” coverage of the Sixers' game against the Chicago Bulls on Friday.
“I just used my speed and my quickness and my strength,” Wade said. “He’s a guy that once he plants that left foot, he’s going to the top of the roof. Just his ability to go downhill, beat his guy, beat that first guy and from there he takes off, it’s incredible.” “I think one thing that Coach (Nick Nurse) mentioned that we don’t see is he does the little things,” Dwyane Wade continued. “When I first came in, I didn’t have the ball in my hand a lot. I had to learn how to do the little things. . .a lot of similarities in just going downhill, being fearless as well. He’s a fearless player, he probably jumps a little higher than me."Edgecombe was selected with the third pick in the 2025 NBA draft by Philadelphia after a stellar freshman season at Baylor. He recorded 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists as the Sixers lost 109-102 on the road against the Bulls.
