Jared Goff's Detroit Lions suffered a crushing 23-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 17 on Thursday. It was Detroit's eighth loss of the season, which eliminated the team from playoff contention.
Goff went 18 of 29 for 197 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He also fumbled three times and was sacked five times.
Later on Thursday, Goff didn't mince his words when asked if he ever thought the Lions would miss the playoffs at the start of the season.

Goff struggled in the second half against the Vikings, as his team scored only three points in the final 30 minutes.
Goff was traded to the Lions in March 2021, after playing five seasons with the LA Rams. The QB has led Detroit to two straight NFC North titles in the past two seasons.
Goff's Lions lost to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game in the 2023 season. Detroit was eliminated from the playoffs last season after losing to the Washington Commanders in the divisional round.
At the start of this season, many believed that Goff and Co. might be in contention to go all the way to the Super Bowl. However, after three straight losses, the Lions' hopes of making the postseason have come to an end.
