Duke got huge news on Thursday, when five-star recruit Dame Sarr chose the Blue Devils.
Turns out, there's a former Blue Devil to thank for the decision.
Sarr spoke with ESPN's Jonathan Givony and credited Jabari Parker with the assist.
"Duke was my dream school," Sarr told ESPN. "... I played with Jabari Parker this season, who went to Duke. When I had a chance to go there, I had to take it."
Sarr and Parker were teammates in Spain for Barcelona.
It's been a long time since Parker left Simeon Career Academy for his one-and-done season with the Blue Devils.
Parker shone in college, then was the No. 2 overall pick to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Always a walking bucket, injuries sapped Parker of much of his skill.
The 6-foot-7 forward has had a strong second act as a standout player in Europe.
And now, he's made one more major contribution to Duke. Everything Sarr does next season will have a hint of Parker hanging over it in the best possible way.
