For the longest time, Draymond Green has seemingly tried to recruit LeBron James to join the Golden State Warriors. It could have been one of the biggest signings in NBA history because LeBron would have joined up with his fierce rivals, Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
Unfortunately for the two Warriors mainstays, LeBron ended up joining the Philadelphia 76ers. He is now enjoying a team where he is part of possibly the league's most potent starting lineup alongside the likes of Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown, and VJ Edgecombe.
Draymond Green feels LeBron James cannot move on from their rivalry
From 2015 to 2018, the Warriors played against a LeBron-led Cleveland Cavaliers team four times in the NBA Finals. Unfortunately for James, he won only one championship during those four years, but it is the most iconic of the four because of the 3-1 comeback.
However, it seems Draymond believes the rivalry is the main reason LeBron has not joined them. It is an interesting reaction, to say the least, because he has wanted his "rival" to join the Warriors for a long while now.

Unfortunately for Green and the Warriors, they now have to deal with their reality. They have to navigate this situation because he and Curry are not getting any younger, and their championship window is closing.
"I ultimately don't think Bron was ever able to get over the history, and I understand it, I get it... He's gonna get crushed if he comes to the Warriors, 'Ah man, you went to team up with Steph.' Ultimately, I think that weighed in on the decision a lot; that played a big role in the Warriors not landing LeBron," Green said on his podcast about James snubbing the Warriors.
Now the Warriors have to deal with this tough situation they find themselves in. In the meantime, James and the 76ers are enjoying their status as one of the biggest title contenders ahead of the 2026-27 season.
