C.J. Stroud's lack of 'aura' has Texans fans concerned

The Houston Texans still have to figure out the contract future of C.J. Stroud.

In the meantime, a supposed lack of "aura" has Texans fans concerned about Stroud's future in general.

A video of Stroud's arrival on Tuesday to training camp wasn't received well:

Not much about that video screams, "I'm a franchise QB."

Bro threw 4 INTs in the playoffs and lost every ounce of aura he had 😭 https://t.co/ewejSdejeW

Stroud has gone with the shorter haircut this year, which in reality isn't that important.

The important thing is seeing Stroud take a step forward on the field. He was Rookie of the Year, but he hasn't really shown improvement in year two or year three.

He's under contract for 2026 and 2027, which is his fifth-year option. At some point, the Texans have to choose whether to give Stroud a longer-term extension beyond 2027.

That could mostly be determined by how he plays this season. Houston certainly would've assumed for a while that Stroud would be their franchise QB, but he has left a bit to be desired.

They'll have to hope that his off-field vibes aren't an indication of what comes next on the field for the Texans' quarterback.
