The New York Knicks are all the rage these days as they prepare to take on the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, but no amount of hype will be enough to get New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson to watch a game at Madison Square Garden.
While speaking to reporters at OTAs last week, Wilson revealed he will no doubt be rooting for the Knicks, but prices are going to keep him from actually attending any games.
“Nah,” Wilson said with a smile. “Them jawns expensive!”
We can't say we blame Wilson, as the prices for Knicks NBA Finals tickets at MSG are absurd.
According to TickPick, the first game at MSG, which will be Game 3, has prices starting at $4,065. Game 4 is slightly lower at $3,728, but the starting price for a possible Game 6 balloons to $4,917.
If Wilson wants a cheaper ticket, he could attend one of the games in San Antonio.
The get-in prices for the first two games are $1,230 and $1,340, respectively. Game 5 sees a bump with a starting price of $1,656, and then Game 7 is much higher at $3,393.
Not that we needed confirmation that the get-in prices are ridiculous, but you know it's really out of hand when a guy on a $130 million contract isn't down to pay up.
Like the rest of us mere mortals, Wilson will be watching from home.
Six-figure Knicks tickets
Think the get-in price is nuts?
Sports finance analyst Darren Rovell noted how someone paid a whopping $279,804 to acquire to courtside seats to an NBA Finals game at MSG.
That's $139,902 per ticket!
Must be nice to have that kind of money.
