The sixth annual WNBA Commissioner's Cup is officially here, and there are some high-intensity matchups on the docket for this year's in-season tournament.
Since its debut in 2021, fans and experts have looked to the Commissioner's Cup as a preview of the WNBA Playoffs, as the league's stronger teams tend to emerge at this point in the season. The theory holds water, since several recent Cup winners have gone on to reach the Finals in the same year — like the Aces (2022), Liberty (2023) and Lynx (2024).
The Fever won the Cup last year, and although they weren't able to reach the 2025 Finals, Indiana made an impressively deep playoff run with several of its best players injured.
Basketball aside, the Commissioner's Cup also raises money for several great causes. After each win throughout the tournament, each team dedicates a portion of their winnings to a charity of their choice.

Commissioner's Cup action will start on Monday, June 1, and end on Wednesday, June 17. The championship game will be played on Tuesday, June, 30.
