There are few better winter feelings in baseball than landing a top free agent.
It can only feel even a bit better when a team like the Los Angeles Dodgers beats out rivals like the San Francisco Giants and New York Yankees for that player.
That's what MLB.com is predicting will happen with outfielder Kyle Tucker, who would be leaving the Chicago Cubs if he signs elsewhere, with an expectation of a contract between $300 million and $500 million.
MLB.com had 46 voters take part in a survey of where the best free agents would go, and half the voters picked the Dodgers. The Giants got 20%, and the Yanks got 13%.
"Half of our voters think the No. 1 free agent in this year’s class will end up on the No. 1 team in the land -- and the vast majority think his time in Chicago will come to an end after one year," writes MLB.com. "Teoscar Hernández has manned right field for the Dodgers for the past couple of seasons, but the reigning World Series champs could easily move him over to left field -- a spot where L.A. didn’t get a whole lot of production last year -- and put Tucker at his natural position."

Tucker slowed down in the second half of the 2025 season due to a right hand fracture, but at full health, he's one of the best players in baseball.
The Dodgers have shown no bounds when it comes to spending money, and a Tucker signing would be a peak example of the rich getting richer.
L.A. won the World Series in 2024, then repeated in 2025.
The Dodgers will be the favorite to win it in 2026 regardless. But if Tucker comes to town, they'll be thought of even more highly.
