Dodgers’ phenom has a .563 average, 2.026 OPS that is begging for a call-up to MLB

Some players get sent down to the minor leagues and find themselves in a bit of a rut, disappointed that they aren't at the MLB level.

Not Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III.

He's absolutely raking to begin the season at Triple-A Oklahoma City, and if he keeps this up, it'll become impossible for the Dodgers to leave him down there for long.

So far in a small sample, Tibbs is hitting .563.

His OPS is even more ridiculous: 2.026.

The 23-year old outfielder has four doubles, one triple, three home runs, nine RBI and eight runs scored in just four games.

And the most amusing part of all this for Dodgers fans may be how Tibbs was acquired.

Last season, L.A. traded Dustin May to the Boston Red Sox for Tibbs. May, who already appeared washed up and proved to be so in Boston, only had half a season of club control remaining.

The Dodgers will get Tibbs for the whole six years of MLB time that a team gets when a player arrives through his initial contract.

Yeah, it's been a steal for sure, and if Tibbs keeps hitting like this, he'll soon get a chance to start proving that at the major league level.
