Dodgers' Max Muncy's stats with glasses have saved his career

The calls were getting louder, at least from Dodgers fans on social media.

They wanted Los Angeles to get rid of Max Muncy. It was about a month into the season, and he was batting .180 without a home run.

But then he put on eyeglasses. USA Today's Bob Nightengale writes that Muncy went to the specs after 28 games with those stats mentioned above.

Since Muncy donned the glasses, he has batted .268 with nine homers, 31 RBI and a .991 OPS.

It's quite the turnaround for a guy who has been consistently excellent at the dish since the Dodgers brought him up in 2018.

There was probably some theorizing that Muncy was just finally hitting a wall at 34 years old.

It turns out, maybe his eyes just needed a bit of a boost.

There aren't a ton of MLB players who wear literal glasses on the field. Plenty certainly rock contact lenses.

Eyesight is obviously crucial for hitters with so little time to react to every pitch.

Muncy has made things a bit less blurry, and his stats have made a crystal clear improvement.
