There is some disappointing news for Tony Khan. This comes just days before AEW Dynamite.

Last week's episode of AEW Dynamite was a special holiday edition. Therefore, Tony Khan taped Dynamite and Collision in back-to-back shows. Hence, fans were treated to some amazing matches on the card. However, the numbers for those two shows don't look too great.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, last week's episode of Dynamite averaged 511,000 viewers, making it the fourth-largest audience total since October 15. This episode also drew a 0.08 rating in the 18-49 demo, which was down 11.1 percent from the previous week. Hence, this episode tied the lowest rating the show has ever had on a Wednesday and is the lowest overall rating since October's Title Tuesday.

On the other hand, the episode of Collision that immediately followed Dynamite drew in 333,000 viewers, which was up 3.4 percent from the last time the show followed Dynamite. This was also the best audience for Collision since the October 15th episode. In the key 18-49 demographic, Collision did a measly 0.05 rating, which was down 28.6 percent from the previous time the show aired on a Wednesday. This rating was also the lowest of the four episodes that have followed Dynamite on a Wednesday.

Tony Khan took a major dig at WWE

This week, AEW hosted an episode of Dynamite and Collision back-to-back. During the changeover from Dynamite to Collision, Tony Khan came out to greet the fans. The fans started chanting "MSG," indicating that they want to see a show take place in Madison Square Garden.

Tony then revealed that the very first episode of Dynamite was slated to take place in MSG. However, "they" didn't want him there, alluding to WWE.

"They didn't want me there, did you know that? The first episode of Dynamite was originally going to be there and they called me and offered me the date. They (MSG) said 'would you like to do the first episode of Dynamite here?'..and I said 'yeah I really would, it would be great.' Then they called me a couple months ago and said, 'we don't want you here anymore,'" said Tony Khan [0:12 - 0:59]

It will be interesting to see if Tony will be able to host a show in MSG in the future.
