Philip RIvers Madden 26 rating: How Colts QB compares to Kirk Cousins, Shedeur Sanders in NFL video game

The Indianapolis Colts lured retired quarterback Philip Rivers out of retirement in the 2025 regular season.

The Colts initially signed Rivers to the practice squad, but he was signed to the active roster ahead of the team's Week 15 game. While there were plenty of implications of the move, including delaying his Hall of Fame eligibility and guaranteeing him more league-provided health insurance, the deal also required a big change. 

The veteran quarterback needed to be added to Madden 26.

Rivers hasn't appeared as an active player in the Madden franchise since Madden 21. He would have cards in the Ultimate Team mode, but if you wanted to play franchise with the veteran, you couldn't because he wasn't an active player.
