Fans of KATSEYE are voicing concern after an official fan quiz placed Manon under scrutiny. The latest flashpoint centers on an official fan quiz released by HYBE in collaboration with Geffen Records. Fan-circulated images show the 23-year-old's quiz sheet asking what she considers her strongest trait, with answer options that included “selfishness” and “laziness.”

Fans quickly flagged the language as "racist." Attempts to frame the quiz as playful were largely dismissed as well. Many fans argued the terms crossed a line, pointing out that Manon has openly expressed discomfort with being described that way.

"This is straight up racism, and I hate when some stupid people would come here to try and convince us otherwise wtfffff," an X user commented.

Many are criticizing HYBE x Geffen for alleged "racism" toward its own artist.

theres genuinely no other way to view this other than straight up racism. how are laziness and selfishness (racist stereotypes that have been used against manon since the doc) positive traits, and even if its a mistranslation its insane that that no one flagged it???

And in all seriousness this mistreatment of Manon screams nothing other than racism. There is no way someone wrote that and it was reread and it was approved. Yous are really trying to push this weird narrative on Manon and it’s weird. And this “ragebait” engagement is bullsh*t.

Manon has so much potential and this company is being too jealous and racist to use it.Still so upset about this. If they do things like this in public ,imagine what they do and say in private...maybe try to kill her confidence every chance they get...but the gag is Manon never needed them to be popular or to make people interested in her.....like they are lucky to have her

The comparison only fueled anger, especially after noticing that no other group member received descriptors similarly on their quiz pages.

Y'all can't tell me this isn't racially motivated, she's the ONLY ONE that got options like thisA lot of eyekons keep telling Manon biaseds that we're being dramatic and victimizing her, when it's pretty clear this company has no respect for her

not only giving manon these vile answer choices, but also having her be the only one with a question that could be viewed as self-centered

the other girls don’t have any answers like the ones they gave manon… puts a bad taste in my mouth

Questions about Manon’s visibility in KATSEYE had also emerged before

Fans kept increasingly questioning how KATSEYE is managing visibility around Manon. The group, backed by HYBE and Geffen Records, came into focus after a viral post highlighted Manon’s repeated absence from promotions. Fans began tracking moments where she was either missing or barely featured.

One widely discussed example involves the group’s billboard appearance celebrating its partnership with Glossier, where Manon was not present during photos, and her image on the display appeared partially blocked. Supporters argue the repetition makes the situation hard to dismiss.

Attention also turned to the Gabriela performance video, which Manon did not film due to an ankle injury. The team later clarified on Weverse that it was a sprain and not a fracture, yet fans say alternatives could have been explored to keep her involved. The discussion has also revived scenes from Popstar Academy, which documents the group’s formation.

As episodes continued, further issues were shown. The Swiss artist was repeatedly late to classes and missed curfews. That eventually led to her leaving the dorms and moving in with her aunt. In episode five, program manager Missy openly said she would not place Manon in the final group due to concerns about her attitude.

Fans now connect those scenes to current promotions. They also highlight her absence from Hypebae posts and the lack of a solo promotional image. From their perspective, the pattern feels deliberate rather than accidental.

In other news, KATSEYE has been named TikTok’s Global Artist of the Year as part of the platform’s annual Year in Music recap.
