Portland Trail Blazers' rookie center Yang Hansen has seen the court only for a few minutes so far in his NBA career. On Thursday, a fan shared a picture containing the Chinese international's stats from his first four games in the league.

Hansen has yet to score more than five points in any of the games he has played. The fan made a sarcastic remark about the Trail Blazers' young center's performance.

"Someday…but not today," the fan wrote.

An account bearing Hansen's name, picture, and a verified blue tick reshared the post on his timeline and spoke about the effort he is putting into the game with limited game time. However, the account does not belong to the Trail Blazers' center. It is a parody account run by another fan.

"I try my best with the minutes I have 😓" the parody account wrote.

However, the account has fooled many fans who think that it is Hansen himself who has complained about his lack of minutes. The post has garnered more than 2.8 million impressions on X.

Yang Hansen is averaging 5.8 minutes on the court in his first five games in the league. While the minutes Hansen is receiving are quite low, it is to be remembered that he is a rookie on the roster, and rookies don't tend to get much playtime over the veterans under certain coaching structures.

Donovan Clingan is the starting big man on the roster, and if Hansen wants more minutes, he needs to prove himself to the coaching staff in practice against the sophomore.

The Trail Blazers' young center had a fairy tale arrival in the league. He was sitting in the stands when his name was called by the commissioner, Adam Silver. Hansen was drafted 16th in the 2025 NBA draft by the Memphis Grizzlies, who had traded the pick to Portland.

According to Spotrac, the Blazers have signed Yang Hansen to a $21,393,588 deal. He has a club option in his contract for the 2027-28 and 2028-29 seasons.

Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen remains humble with fans amid minutes struggle

The Portland Trail Blazers surprised the NBA community when they stole a 139-119 win from the Golden State Warriors on Friday. Yang Hansen played only seven minutes in that game, and ended the night with two-points, one-rebound and two-blocks.

While his performance was nothing out of the ordinary, his humble after game gesture was surely one. After securing the win, Hansen gave out his autographs to fans in the stands. He gave a kid wearing a Golden State Warriors jersey a pair of signed shoes.

That kid might not remember the Chinese international's performance in the game, but he sure would remember receiving a special gift. Before declaring for the NBA draft, Hansen played for the Qingdao Eagles in the Chinese Basketball Association.
