Diablo 4 Fields of Judgment guide: Location, Urivar fight, drops, and more

Diablo 4’s Fields of Judgment is a mini-dungeon containing the powerful Urivar. Even though he’s one of the lower-tier Lair Bosses, he’s still not someone you should trifle with. That having been said, all classes should be able to solo him on any Torment difficulty. That will naturally depend on your build, how well you’re geared, and what you know of the fight.

We’ll go over everything you need to know about Urivar, where the Fields of Judgment are in Diablo 4, and what he can drop for you. It’s also worth pointing out first that if you do not have the Vessel of Hatred expansion, you can’t fight him at all. You also must be on Torment difficulty to take part in this dungeon.

Where to find Field of Judgment in Diablo 4

You can find Diablo 4’s Fields of Judgment dungeon in the Teganze Plateau of the Nahantu region. You can see it in the screenshot below. However, there really aren’t any normal towns near the Fields of Judgment, unless you’ve gone out of your way to complete the Kichuk Stronghold in the northeastern area of Nahantu.

It’s a very short dungeon, and culminates in the fight with Urivar, which, thanks to the Lair Boss shakeup, no longer requires any material components to summon him. You do need proper materials to claim his loot chest after the fight, however. Once inside the dungeon, just follow the path until you reach the boss. Sadly, it's still randomized, but it is short.

We’ll go over that below. If you don’t want to clear Kichuk, you can also fast travel to the Caves of Kutokue or Farai Cliffs dungeons nearby, and ride. You can also fast travel directly to the Fields of Judgment as well, by opening up the map.

How to beat Urivar at the Fields of Judgment in Diablo 4

When the Urivar fight starts, he’ll descend from above in the center of the room, and summon his knights. They’ll surround the fighting arena, and will be able to attack the player with fiery spears that leave fiery trails that also briefly inflict poison. It will be helpful to have Fire Resistance for this fight to some degree, because those spears hurt.

He also has a few attacks that get telegraphed, and are pretty easy to spot. That said, the higher the difficulty level, the more they hurt. Even fully geared Paladins can be blasted to bits by his spears if you let enough of them hit you.

  • A Rain of Spears will chase you around the arena.
  • Charging sword attack that leaves three holy trails.
  • He can link a holy beam to you that slows, and summons spears to fly at you.

Those attacks change up a bit when he’s low on health. Instead, the spears will also fly at you, and the flame trail will stay on the ground longer. At 50% health, Urivar will vanish, and you will have to best his knights, in small groups.

You can also skip this with enough damage in the early seconds of the fight. Instead of having an invulnerability phase, he has a shield that if you can break it down, you can skip phases of the fight.

In the final phase of the fight, he’ll spawn Holy Circles that deal massive damage, should you get hit. This is another thing you can skip by simply doing millions of damage in a huge blitz at the start of the fight. The better geared you are (or the more people you bring with you), the easier this is.

When Urivar is defeated at the Fields of Judgment in Diablo 4, if you have at least 12x Judicator’s Masks, you can open his chest and claim several items from his loot table. You can farm Judicator’s Masks from The Tree of Whispers, World Bosses, or potentially Mercenary Bartering.

All potential loot drops for Urivar in the Fields of Judgment in Diablo 4

Depending on what Torment difficulty level you’re on in Diablo 4, you will see a specific number of random Uniques, plus at least one Rune. He can also drop Stygian Stones (alchemical components to make other boss items), and Abhorrent Hearts (used to summon Harbinger of Hatred).

  • Torment 1: 3 Uniques, 1 Rune
  • Torment 2: 4 Uniques, 1 Rune
  • Torment 3: 5 Uniques, 1 Rune
  • Torment 4: 7 Uniques, 1 Rune

You also get a bonus for going in a group. One final note is that you may also see a Mini Belial fight after you open the chest. This gives you more loot, and is also the only place you’re going to see Betrayer’s Husks for the Belial Pinnacle Boss fight. Below is the complete loot table you can expect:
