20th Century Studios just dropped the debut teaser for The Devil Wears Prada 2, which is the follow-up to the 2006 hit. Fans can expect Meryl Streep to return to the screen, alongside Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, who will also reprise their roles. The movie is set for a theatrical release on May 1, 2026.

The preview, released on November 12, 2025, begins with Streep's Miranda Priestly entering an elevator at Runway magazine’s workplace. Moments later, Anne Hathaway’s Andy Sachs joins her before the doors close.

The brief exchange ends with Priestly saying, “Took you long enough,” followed by the tagline “Gird your loins,” a reference to a line from the original film. The teaser does not include plot details but confirms that the sequel revisits the professional relationship between Priestly and Sachs.

The Devil Wears Prada 2: Plot and setting

According to Variety, The Devil Wears Prada 2 movie centers on Miranda Priestly navigating shifts in print media while maintaining her job. Instead of sticking to old ways, she tries to adjust to how news spreads these days —online, fast, and everywhere.

Meanwhile, tension builds between her and Emily Charlton, now high-up at a fancy fashion label that holds the purse strings Runway depends on.

The movie picks up ideas from the first version back in 2006, tied to a book Lauren Weisberger wrote three years earlier. This one follows Andy Sachs, a new grad in journalism, landing a job under Miranda Priestly, the top boss at Runway magazine.
