Detroit Become Human has potentially hundreds of alternate endings based on the player's actions and decisions. The smallest decision can change the way an ending plays out in small or significant ways. The characters, Markus, Connor, and Kara, are all entrapped in the web of events that lead to either terrible outcomes or positive ones, where everyone gets the best exit.

Therefore, this article will go over all of the best (positive) endings in to the story of Detroit Become Human.

Note: This article contains major spoilers about the story of the game.

Detroit Become Human: Best endings for all characters

1) Battle for Detroit: Markus chooses peaceful protest

In this ending, Markus leads a more passive protest after having chosen the 'Calm' option during his initial speech at the Stratford Tower. He also chooses not to execute the officers at Capitol Park. Meanwhile, Kara and Alice escape the government by crossing the border into Canada after having escaped Zlatko.

Finally, Connor eventually gains sympathy for the Deviants as he abandons his anti-android mission and joins the revolution for good. This is perhaps the best possible ending where all characters get to live and succeed in some positive way.

Markus

For Markus, it's best if he manages to survive past the end credits of Detroit Become Human, since then he would have no reason to worry about being decommissioned by the U.S. government. If this works out, he gets to stay alive, and his revolution can succeed either violently or in a peaceful way, where the people of the United States become sympathetic towards him and his people.

However, he can be killed at many points during the campaign, including Freedom March, Battle for Detroit, and Crossroads.

Kara

For Kara, perhaps the best-case scenario is that she manages not to get captured at the border after escaping with Alice and Luther. Alternatively, if they do get captured, they will be sent away to an android recall camp where she can either leave Alice or stay with her. However, they will both be decommissioned if Markus fails in his uprising against the government.

Kara and Alice can be killed during various missions, including Zlatko, Battle for Detroit, Stormy Night, and more.

Connor

Connor can get a good ending at various points in Detroit Become Human. He can either accept his bond with Hank and become a Deviant or defeat his duplicate and free thousands of androids from the factory. Alternatively, he can overcome Cyberlife's hacking attempts to maintain his independence.

Finally, Connor can choose to remain loyal to Cyberlife, but this means he will eventually have to fight Markus and risk being decommissioned after all.

These are some of the best possible endings for all the characters of Detroit Become Human. The game is currently available at a 90% discount under the Steam Winter Sale 2025 and can be purchased at the low price until January 5, 2026.
