The Seattle Seahawks won Super Bowl 60 over the New England Patriots on the backs of an incredible performance from their defense. One of the main cogs of the defense for Seattle all year was defensive lineman DeMarcus Lawrence.
He signed with the Seahawks in free agency after 11 years with the Dallas Cowboys, and made a very bold statement that he would "for sure" never win a Super Bowl with the Cowboys. That riled up the Cowboys fans then, and now, it's taking on a new meaning.
Lawrence helped the Seahawks win the Super Bowl, and has more than backed up his diss of the Cowboys as he left the team. 11 seasons in Dallas, and his first away from the team, he helps his defense win the Super Bowl in one of the most dominant performances ever.
DeMarcus Lawrence disses Cowboys, proves himself right with Super Bowl win
Hawk Blogger on YouTube shared an interview with Lawrence shortly after he signed with the Seahawks. During this interview, Lawrence had a viral quote that dissed the Cowboys on his way out.
"Dallas is my home. Made my home there, and my family lives there. I'm forever going to be there. But, you know, I know for sure I'm not going to win a Super Bowl there. So, yeah... We here," Lawrence said.
Lawrence is a 33-year-old veteran defensive lineman who's played in 141 games before the 2025 season. He's seen a lot of football and knows a lot about the game.
His comments, dissing the Cowboys, were just a diss in the moment. But now, with the Seahawks winning the Super Bowl, with Lawrence playing a big role in their season, he has more than proved his comments right.

It's been a rough time for the Cowboys. While they've had regular-season success, their playoff struggles have left them without an NFC Championship appearance for a very long time.
Lawrence never made it past the NFC Division round with the Cowboys, and he believed he was never going to make it to the Super Bowl if he stayed in Dallas.
The first season he wasn't a Cowboy, his former team missed the playoffs, thanks to a defense sorely lacking a pass rusher, while Lawrence helped his new team win the Super Bowl with one of the most dominant defensive performances in Super Bowl history.
Not only did Lawrence diss the Cowboys on his way out, but he proved himself right by immediately winning the Super Bowl on his new team after this diss.
